2018 World Cup has been an unpredictable tournament so far. The nations labeled as the Underdogs have stunned the contenders with the great display of the game. Group E game between Brazil and Costa Rica was on its way to being one of the examples. However, the late winner from Coutinho and Neymar seal the victory over their neighbor.
Brazil defeated Costa Rica by 2-0 in the second round Group E game. With the scoreless draw in the regular 90 minutes, the game was expected to end in a draw. But the late goal from Coutinho saw Brazil their first victory of the 2018 World Cup.
Neymar doubled the score shortly before the final whistle. Gabriel Jesus passed the ball to Neymar beating a defender and Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas on which the PSG star made a simple touch to net the ball.
Earlier in the 78th minute, Brazil were awarded a penalty after 'what it looked like' a foul on Neymar by Giancarlo Gonzalez. However, the referee Bjorn Kuipers took back his decision after VAR replay. With the result, Brazil are now the leader of the Group E with Serbia and Switzerland still to play their second match.
