Asante Samuel Jr. is an American football cornerback who used to play college football for the Florida State Seminoles football team. He was recently drafted as the 47th overall pick by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2021 NFL Draft. Furthermore, he has also earned fame as the son of Asante Samuel, a four-time NFL Pro Bowl cornerback.

In his freshman year, he played in a total of 12 games and managed to record nine pass breakups and 17 tackles including 1 for loss. His performance led him to tie for third among ACC freshmen. In the sophomore year, his performance further improved as he tallied 14 pass breakups, 48 tackles, and 1 interception in 12 games.
For his amazing performance, he was named to the third-team All-ACC team. In his junior year, Samuel Jr. played in 8 games and recorded 6 pass breakups, 31 tackles, 3 interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. He was named to the first-team All-ACC team for his performance.
After collecting such good stats, he declared himself for the 2021 NFL Draft. When the draft happened, he was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers as the 47th overall pick in the second round.
