Arthur enrolled at "South Oak Cliff High School," where he started his basketball career. He guided his high school to back-to-back Texas 4A state title in 2005 and 2006 as well as was the tournament’s MVP both years.

On March 31, 2016, in a 101-95 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, Arthur tied a career high with 24 points off the bench.
