Early Life

Aritz Aduriz was born as Aritz Aduriz Zubeldia on 11th of February 1981, in San Sabastian, Spain. His father was a driver and mother an office worker. His parents did not support him to play football in childhood as they were not the football fans and thought football would not be the good choice for his future.

Regarding his nationality, Aduriz is Spanish and is of white ethnicity.

Club Career

Aritz Aduriz began his football career with “Antiguoko”, an amateur youth Spanish football club based in Antiguo, Basque Country, Spain. He played there for 5 years and signed to “Aurrera”, a football club based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country. For the club, Aduriz made the total of 25 appearances and scored 8 goals.

In 2000, Aduriz signed a two-year contract with Bilbao Athletic and made 90 appearances scoring 18 goals. After two years with the reserve team, he moved to “Athletic Bilbao”. and made his debut on 14th of September 2002, against FC Barcelona in a 0-2 home loss. He then went on to spend 3 seasons, one in "Burgos FC" in a loan and-a-half in "Real Valladolid" in the second division before returning to Athletic Bilbao in December of 2005.

From 2006 to 2008, Artiz Aduriz made 82 appearances and scored 22 goals for Athletic Bilbao. He then signed a four-year contract with "Real Club Deportivo Mallorca, S.A.D." in late 2008. 

On 14th July 2010, Aduriz joined Valencia CF for about €4 million. He made his debut on 28 of August, in an ultimate 3-1 win against "Malaga CF". He remained there till 2012 making 28 total appearances and scored 17 goals.

On 27th of June 2012, he rejoined Athletic Bilbao on a three-year contract, for about $2.5 million. Throughout his career in the club, Aduriz has achieved Supercopa de Espana, Copa Del Rey: Runner-up 2014-2015, Zarra Trophy: 2014-15, 2015-16, and UEFA Europa League: Top Scorer/ Squad of the Season 2015-16.

In 2015, he agreed to a contract extension. He has so far scored 88 goals in 175 appearances.

International Career

At twenty-nine, Aritz Aduriz got the first call-up to the Spanish national team being chosen for two UEFA Euro 2012 qualifiers in October of 2010. He debuted for the national team on the 8th in a 3-1 win against Lithuania substituting Llorente.  

After six years, manager Vicente del Bosque recalled Aduriz for friendlies with Romania and Italy. He began and scored in the 1st match in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Friuli, and was selected for UEFA Euro 2016 in France.

At his thirty-five, he became the Spain’s oldest ever goalscorer after contributing to a 4-0 win over Macedonia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying phase in Granda on 12th of November 2016. Some of his close companion in the national team are Sergi RobertoBrahim Diaz.

The thirty-six years old prominent footballer, Aduriz has revealed limited information regarding his personal life. He is married but has rarely been seen with his wife in the public. Though he actively surfs social networking sites such as Instagram and Facebook, he has not posted any photos with his wife. The couple has no any children as per some sources.
