Anibal Casis Godoy Lemus is a Panamanian footballer who plays as a midfielder for the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer and the Panama national football team.

Anibal Godoy is a native of Panama City, Panama, born on 10th February 1990. He has an elder brother and younger sister. Godoy grew up in two homes: one was El Palmar de Nueva Arraign and Calle 15, Santa Ana. His mother lived in the suburbs and grand-mothers lived in the center of the city.

He studied in the city and spend most of his childhood with his grandma in Calle 15 Santa Ana, where he started playing football.  

He had a keen interest in football since his early age. His parent instilled in him the value of school first, and side by side supported his football career too.

Godoy began his football career at Chepo and moved out of the country in November 2011 to join Godoy Cruz on loan. After returning to Chepo, he again relocated to Europe in August 2013 when he signed for Hungarian side Honved Budapest. On 1st September 2013, Godoy made his professional debut for Honved against Kaposvar Rakoczi.

San Jose Earthquakes

On 6th August 2015, Godoy moved to MLS side San Jose Earthquakes, signing a contract for an undisclosed transfer fee. On 30th November 2017, he agreed on a new, multi-year contract with the San Jose Earthquakes. During the 2018 season, he was appointed vice-captain for the team.

Anibal Godoy's International career

Anibal Godoy was a part of Panama U-20 and U-21 national team. In March 2010, he made his international debut for Panama senior team friendly match against Venezuela.  Moreover, he has represented his national side in 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification matches and also played at the 2011 and 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cups.

In May 2018, Godoy’s was included in Panama's preliminary 35 man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup along with his teammates Erick Davis, Luis Ovalle, and Luis Tejada.

Currently twenty-eight years old, Anibal Godoy stands six feet tall and weighs 79 Kg.

Moving into his personal life, at his 16 he found love in his schoolmate Titan, while both were studying. Later three years, he left his parents’ home and moved in with his girlfriend. After dating five years long, the lovebird decided to take their relationship to whole new level and tied the wedding knot in 2011 in a grand ceremony.
