Alastair Nathan Cook AKA Alistair Cook is a former professional left-handed batsman and former captain of England Test and One Day International Cricket team.
He was considered as one of the greatest batsmen of England and is a prolific runscorer in the test arena in the modern cricketing world. Cook took retirement from international cricket on September 3, 2018.
Alistair Cook is of English nationality and was born on 25 December 1984 in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England to mother, Stephanie Cook who was school teacher by professional and father, Graham Cook who was telecommunications engineer.
Cook was fond of playing a musical instrument especially the clarinet when he was a child. Cook began to take cricket seriously since his early childhood days.
According to 2017, he was paid £1.7 million that includes being paid for all three formats of cricket which is Test, One day international and Twenty 20 games.
Looking at his long, illustrious and successful career, he must be amassed a great deal of fortune through his professional career as a cricketer. Hence his net worth is estimated to be in the range of $3 million.
He started his first-class career with English county cricket team Essex in 2003. Cook made his test debut in 2006 and scored his first test century against India on 1 March 2006 for England team led by Andrew Flintoff.
He scored his first One-day international century against India on 21 August 2007 at Rose Bowl, Southampton. After his consistent performances and winning efforts with his bat, he was elected as the Test team captain by replacing the previous captain Andrew Strauss on 29 August 2012.
He led the England team to win their first Test series victory over India led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni which has players such as Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli in the team. The victory was first since 1984/85 and is currently for England cricket Test cricket team led by current captain Joe Root.
Cook took retirement from international cricket on September 3, 2018, after 5th test against India.
