Cheteshwar Arvind Pujara or simply known as Cheteshwar Pujara is an Indian professional cricket player who plays for India as a right-handed batsman.

His mother, Reema Pujara died due to cancer when he was only 17 and was appointed the brand ambassador for Gujarat during Election Commission of Gujarat.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s Bio and Early Life

Cheteshwar Pujara is of Indian nationality. He was born on 25 January 1988 in Rajkot, Gujarat, India to mother, Reema Pujara, and father, Arvind Pujara.

His father has been former Indian first-class cricket player who played for Saurashtra. The right-handed batsmen played at the Under 19 Cricket World Cup at Sri Lanka and started his domestic career with his home state of Saurashtra.

He made his Test debut in 2010 and was the member of the India U 19 team at 2006 Cricket World Cup and was the leading runscorer at the tournament.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s International Career

He made his Test debut for India against Australia on 9 October 2010 in Banglore and scored his first test century against New Zealand in 2012.

Pujara made his one-day international debut against Zimbabwe on 1 August 2013 and has yet to make his Twenty 20 debut for India.

He scored his highest test score of 206 not out against England in 2011/12 test series in the home ground. Pujara was the prolific run scorer for Saurashtra in the 2017/18 Ranji Trophy with scoring 437 runs in only four matches.
