His father, Mohammed immigrated to the United States from Karachi, before Adam was born. Mohammed settled in Chicago and worked in a factory. At the time, his wife, Zubeda along with their three children Ismail, Abdullah, and Mustafa, remained in Pakistan, until Mohammed made enough amount to send for his family in 1985. Adam was born the following year.
