A French-born-Senegalese international footballer, Youssouf Sabaly is currently signed to Ligue 1 club FC Girondins de Bordeaux as a right-back and has been assigned shirt No. 20. The young talent previously played for the football club including Nantes, Evian, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain

Following various youth level at PSG, Sabaly was promoted to the B team of the club in 2011. He played overall 46 matches till 2013 for the reserve team. Further, in the opening match of the 2013-14 season, Sabaly made his first-team debut in a 1-1 draw against Sochaux-Montbellard.

Soon Sabaly was loaned out to Evian, where he remained till 2015. Again he was loaned out but this time to Nantes for 2015-16. The following season, he played for Bordeaux, appearing in 30 matches.  


On July 1st, 2017, Sabaly was signed to Bordeaux from PSG. He has so far played 17 matches but has not scored any goal.

International Career of Youssouf Sabaly

As Sabaly’s parents belong to Senegalese parents, he is eligible to represent both France and Senegal national team internationally. He was a team member of France U17, U18 U19, and U20 national team.

In 2017, he was called up from Senegal national team. On 10th November 2017, he made his debut for Senegal in a 2-0 victory over South Africa in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification.

I May 2018, Sabaly was named in Senegal’s 23 man team along with his teammates Saliou Ciss, Abdoulaye Diallo, and  Moussa Sow for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
