Xander Jan Bogaerts a.k.a. Xander Bogaerts is an Aruban professional baseball player for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball as well as for the Netherlands national baseball team.

He was signed as an amateur free agent by Red Sox in the year 2009. As of 2021, he has a net worth of over $20 million.

Xander Bogaerts was born on 1st October 1992, in Nicolaas, Aruba, to Sandra Brown. His star sign is Libra. As per nationality, he is an Aruban and belongs of African descent. 

He has a sister Chandra Schmid Bogaerts and a twin brother named, Jair Bogaerts who also plays for the Red Sox. Since their childhood, the brothers were interested in Baseball and used to play with each other and with their folks.

Xander Bogaerts Professional Life

At the age of 16 in 2009, Xander was discovered by a scout for Boston Red Sox Mike Lord. Mike Lord recommended him to Craig Shipley who was the Red Sox’s vice president for international scouting. Watching his outstanding play, The Red Sox signed him to a contract.

In 2010, Xander made his professional debut from Dominican Summer League Red Sox where he stood fifth in the DSL in RBI and tenth in the total bases. The next year, he played a full-season league for Greenville Drive of Class A South Atlantic League. Later on, he joined the Dutch National Team for the 2011 Baseball World Cup leading the team to win the gold medal.

In the 2012 season, Xander started in Class-A and ended up playing with Portland Sea Dogs of Class AA Eastern League. He was named in the 2012 All-Star Future Game. In 2013, he played in the 2013 World Baseball Classic representing Dutch National Team.

With the start of the 2013 season, he gained much of the appreciation and ranked 5th overall prospect by ESPN. He was ranked 20th in the MLB.com and 8th in Baseball America Top 100 Prospects list. In the same year, he was promoted to Major League player Pawtucket Red Sox of the Triple-A International League by the Portland. He made his MLB debut on 20 August  2013.

In 2014, the MLB star became the Red Sox's starting shortstop 2014. Furthermore, he won Silver Slugger Award in back-to-back years, 2015 and 2016. On July 2-8 2018, he was named Al Player of the Week. Moreover, Bogaerts was the only rooster to be on the Red Sox player for both the 2013 and 2018 World Series.

International Career

Bogaerts represented the Dutch national baseball team in various tournaments. Notably, he played in the 2011 Baseball World Cup as well as won the title. More, he played in the 2013 World Baseball Classic and the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
