Career

Hubocan spent his youth career playing for Zilina. In 2004, he was promoted to the Zilina First Team. In 2006, the season he was loaned out to ViOn Zlate Moravce. After he came back to Zilina, he worked up for one of the best defenders in Corgon Liga. Further, he won the league with Sosoni in the 2006-07 season. 

On 11th February 2008, Zenit signed to Hubocan agreeing on a three-year contract for €3.8 million, the highest ever paid to a Slovak club. He received his first taste of Champions League football against Real Madrid (at the Petrovsky stadium) on 30 September 2008.

On 30 September 2010, he scored his first goal for Zenit in a UEFA Europa League match against AEK Athens F.C. On 7 September 2017, he joined the Turkish club Trabzonspor on loan. 

On 11th December 2006, Hubocan made his international debut for Slovakia against the United Arab Emirates. In November 2020, he came out of retirement and played in the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying play-offs clinching game against Northern Ireland.

In June 2021, he was named in the final 26-man squad for the rescheduled UEFA Euro 2020 tournament alongside Martin Dubravka and Lubomir Satka.
