Following the 2011 Walker Cup, Lewis turned professional, making his debut at the Austrian Golf Open. There he shoots a two-over-par 74 in the first round. After two months, he had his maiden professional win at the Portugal Masters on the European Tour, shooting rounds of 70, 64, 68, and 65 to finish two shots clear of the field. In December, he was awarded the European Tour's Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year.
