High School To College To Professional

TJ Stark enrolled at   Lancaster High School where he played under head coach Ferrin Douglas. During his junior, he averaged 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists per game. He led the team to its second consecutive Class 5A State Championship where Starks scored 20 points during the championship-game victory over Elkins High School. 

In Senior season, Starks was named the 2017 5A Region II District 10 Offensive Player of the Year and a Class 5A All-State selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Regarded as a three-star prospect, he committed to Texas A&M in June 2016. 
At Texas A&M, Starks made 15 starts and averaged 9.9 points and 2.3 assists per game as a freshman. Also, he earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors. 

As a sophomore, he averaged 12.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Due to an ankle injury, he missed the first two games of his junior season. On 14th November 2019, after being arrested for possession of two ounces or less of marijuana, he was suspended. 

After that, Starks committed to Cal State where he sat out the rest of the season as a redshirt. As a redshirt junior, Starks averaged 21.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He was named to the First Team All-Big West as well as Big West Newcomer of the Year. Following the season, he declared for the 2021 NBA draft but was unselected.

On 5th September 2021, Starks signed his first professional contract with Rytas Vilnius of the Lithuanian Basketball League.
