Steve McManaman is an English former football player played as a midfielder, winger and playmaker for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City. Steve McMananman was born on 11 February 1972, in Kirkdale, Lancashire, England and his full name is Steven "Steve" McManaman. His mother's name is Irene McManaman who was bedridden with breast cancer for two years and later died. He grew up being an Everton supporter. He is of British nationality.
Steve McMananman began his footballing career with Liverpool. He made his professional debut for the club on 15 December 1990, in a 2–0 league win over Sheffield United at Anfield. He scored his first ever professional goal with a diving header four days later on 21 August 1991 in the match against Manchester City. He was at the club for nine years, appearing in 237 games and scoring 46 goals.
He later moved to Real Madrid on 1 July 1999, he made his dream debut for Madrid on 22 August 1999 in the 2–1 La Liga win over Mallorca scoring a goal and providing an assist. He gradually developed himself in the club and was slowly known all over the world. He was in the club for 4 years appeared in 94 matches and scored 8 goals.
McManaman headed back to the Premier League on 30 August 2004 joining Manchester City.
