Sami Khedira is a German professional football player who currently plays as a central midfielder for the Italian top club Juventus and his national side Germany. The 30 years old player has played for clubs like VfB Stuttgart, Real Madrid, and Juventus. 

Early Life

Sami Khedira was born on 4th April 1987, in Stuttgart, West Germany. He was born to a German family, his parents are Doris Khedira and Juventus and have two brothers Rani Khedira and Danny Khedira.

His brother Rani Khedira is also a professional football player who currently plays as a midfielder for the German club Stuttgart. He holds a German nationality and belongs to the German ethnicity.

Club Career

Sami Khedira began his professional footballing career in 2004, joining the local professional club VfB Stuttgart's B team. He was in the club's second team for two seasons making a total of 31 appearances and scoring a goal.

He was further promoted to the Club's first team in 2006. He made his professional debut for the club on 1 October 2006, against Hertha BSC. He scored his debut goal of his professional career on 29 October in the 3–0 win against Schalke 04, netting twice.

He was in the club for four successive seasons making a total of 98 appearances and scoring 18 goals. He further left the club and went to Spain.

He then joined the Spanish club Real Madrid on 30 July 2010, signing a contract until 2015. He made his official debut for the club on 13 August in a friendly match against FC Bayern Munich, and his league debut came on sixteen days later, in a 0–0 away draw against Mallorca.

His first competitive goal for the club came in the Champions League, on 18 October 2011 to the opponent Olympique Lyonnais. He was in the club for five successive seasons making a total of 102 appearances and scoring six goals.

He further switched to the Italian top club Juventus on 9 June 2015, signing to a four-year deal with the club on a free transfer. He made his competitive debut for the club on 1 August 2015 in a friendly match against Marseille, where he was stretchered off the pitch after just 25 minutes due to a hamstring.

His Series debut came on 4th October 2015, in a match against Bologna, scoring the final goal in a 3–1 home win. He scored his first career hattrick in a 6–2 away win over Udinese on 22 October 2017. He still plays for the club.

International Career

Sami Khedira has represented his national side Germany at both junior and senior levels. He has won 30 caps for his junior national side and he captained the side during the European Under-21 Championship in 2009, his team won in the final against England by 4–0.

He made his national senior team debut on 5 September 2009, in a friendly match against South Africa. He has won over 71 caps for his national side scoring seven goals.

Personal Life

Sami Khedira is neither married nor single; he is in a longterm relationship with his loving girlfriend, Lena Gercke. His partner Lena Gercke is a German fashion supermodel.

The lovers are living together but not married yet. and before Lena Gercke, he was reportedly in a relationship with hot Brazilian model turned actress Adriana Lima. In 2012, they appeared on in the cover of GQ’s February edition together. Reportedly the footballer and model duo is planning to get married in 2018.
