Having spent his whole professional career in the Strikeforce promotion, he brought forward on their final show as he faced K.J. Noons at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine on 12th January 2013. Even though being outstruck by Noons in each round, he was endowed with a split decision victory.

At Bellator 162, Couture faced Goiti Yamauchi on 21st October 2016 and was defeated by his opponent via submission just over a minute into the first round.
In his fifth Bellator match, he faced Haim Gozali at Bellator 180 on 24th June 2017. He won the fight via unanimous decision.
