Early Life & High School Career
Hebard was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 28, 1998. She was a newborn when she was adopted by an Alaskan couple. As a young girl in Alaska, she discovered basketball and became obsessed with the sport.
At West Valley High School, she was named the Gatorade State Player of the Year a record three times (from 2013 to 20151) and the USA Today Alaska Player of the Year twice (2015 and 2016). In the junior year, Hebard led the Ducks to their first Final Four appearance in the NCAA tournament. She had 16.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and made 67% of her shots for the second-highest shooting efficiency in the NCAA. She was on the All-Pac-12 team for the third straight year.
The star had an amazing senior year, averaging 17.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game and shooting 68.5% from the field. She joined the 2,000 career points club in Pac-12 history. She also earned her second Katrina McClain Award and was a First-team All-American by AP and USBWA.

Additionally, she was a key reserve for the Sky in the playoffs, averaging 6.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in eight games. Herbard had 10 points and eight rebounds in Game 4 of the Finals against the Mercury, helping the Sky tie the series at 2-2. Surprise Pregnancy & Motherhood
Hebard surprised many fans when she announced on May 1, 2023, that she had given birth to a baby boy on April 11. She revealed that she had trained throughout her pregnancy and that she did not know she was pregnant until she was five or six months along.

Hebard knew she was pregnant after playing in Turkey for Nesibe Aydın in the WNBA offseason. She had her son in Chicago, her birthplace and the Sky’s home. She said the Sky coach James Wade and her teammates supported her pregnancy and comeback.
With her son Xzavier by her side, Hebard attended the first day of Sky training camp on May 2, 2023. She said she was getting ready to play basketball again and that she hoped to join the Sky on the court in May. She also said she was happy to have her son surrounded by positive role models and to be part of a lively and young team.
Coaching Career At TCU
Hebard joined TCU women’s basketball as an assistant coach on June 15, 2023, working under head coach Raegan Pebley. Hebard said she was thankful for the chance to coach at TCU while still playing in the WNBA. She said she aimed to pass on her skills and insights to the young players and help them develop as players and as people.
Hebard is one of the few active WNBA players who also coaches at the college level. She said she hoped to inspire other women to pursue their dreams and passions in basketball and beyond.
