Reiss joined  Arsenal at the age of nine as an academy player. Nelson made a big impression on youth coaches and was subsequently moved to squads above his age group regularly. In the 2016- 17 campaign, Nelson played 35 games for the Arsenal youth teams, including 9 games for the U-21 team.

Nelson signed his first professional contract with Arsenal on 10 December 2016 after his 17th birthday after several impressive performances in the youth teams.

Club Career

Reiss was included in the senior squad for the 2017-18 pre-season tour by the manager  Arsène Wenger. On 19 July 2017, Nelson made his first senior appearance in the 2017 International Champions Cup pre-season match for Arsenal against Bayern Munich.

Nelson made his first competitive appearance for Arsenal coming as a substitute against Chelsea in the community shield. Nelson made his European debut on 14 September 2017 when he replaced Theo Walcott in the Europa League match against FC Köln at the 82nd minute.

On September 20, 2017, Nelson made his first start for the club against Doncaster Rovers. On 20 January 2018, Nelson made his debut in the Premier League in a 4- 1 win against Crystal Palace in the 72nd minute.

Nelson started his first Premier League on 8 April 2018 with a 3- 2 victory over Southampton. In the 64th minute, he was replaced by Jack Wilshere. Nelson won the PL2 Player of the Year award on 17 May 2018.

Nelson signed a long-term contract with Arsenal on 31 August 2018 and then loaned to the German club 1899 Hoffenheim. Nelson made its debut at Fortuna Düsseldorf on 15 September 2018 as a 72nd-minute substitute.

Reiss Nelson International Career

In May 2016, Nelson was part of the England national Under-17 football team, which reached the quarterfinals of the 2016 UEFA European Championship of Under-17, played four games and scored three goals. Due to his performance, Nelson was included in the team of the tournament.

Nelson debuted against Andorra on 11 October 2018 as a second-half replacement. Nelson scored the sixth goal of the Young Lions with a stoppage-time backheel in a 7- 0 win that secured qualification for the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
