Randa Markos-Thomas, also known as Quiet Storm is the toughest challenger in a mixed martial and competes in the Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She was born on August 10, 1985 in Baghdad, Iraq. She has one Sister Reva Hermiz and two brothers Robert Markos and Chris Markos. She made her Pro MMA debut on November 17, 2014 at IFC 51 defeating Allanna Jones via third round armbar. Ranked #14 for Team Pettis, Markos was matched against #3 ranked Tecia Torres for the first fight of the season; Markos defeated Torres after third round giving Team Pettis their first win. Randa has solified herself as dominant force in the UFC’s Strawweight division.
Her family had a tough time in early days. They were so protective that she was watched for what she does and prevented for roaming with friends. They tried too hard to keep it like middle-east, but Markos found a different environment at school. Her dad being male dominated it was so hard for her wish to be fulfilled. During her high school she knew wrestling was offered at her school. She asked for permission with her parents but they rejected and she got scolded at her gym to discontinue her practice. She then lied to her parents about joining volleyball and continue her wrestling. After wrestling at high school, St. Joseph, she joined jiu jitsu which is same as wrestling. She then started her professional career in 2009.
Moving onto her personal life, Randa Markos is happily married to her longtime boyfriend Jeff Thomas. Born in Baghdad, Randa’s parents fled the country on foot during Iran/Iraq war and walked almost 800 km to Turkey where the family sought refuge. She and her family were held at the gunpoint and imprisoned during the Gulf War for trying to escape while they managed to escape and two years after arriving to Turkey, the family immigrated to Canada which is known the home place of Randa. Markos worked as pharmacy technician at a local pharmacy in Windsor. Markos has one sister named Reva Hermiz and brother named Chris Markos. Her father was very abusive towards her mother Azhar Markos which is why Markos sent her father to jail five several times.
