Pavel Andreyevich Buchnevich is a Russian ice hockey right wing signed to the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was picked by the Rangers with 75th overall of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Before NHL, he played for Russian club Severstal Cherepovets and SKA Saint Petersburg.

Professional Career

Buchnevich started ice hockey at his hometown team Severstal Cherepovets. In the 2012-13 season, he made his professional debut. Further, he was seen splitting the 2015–16 seasons between KHL outfits Cherepovets and SKA St. Petersburg.

On 13th May 2016, Buchnevich signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the New York Rangers of the NHL. He made the Rangers' lineup for the 2016–17 seasons. On 13th October 2016, he made his NHL debut in a 5-3 victory against the New York Islanders. Similarly, his first NHL goal came on 5th November 2016 in a 5–2 triumph over the Boston Bruins. 

Due to back spasms, he missed significant time during his rookie season. Upon his return, he was assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack for a four-game conditioning stint prior to finally returning to the Rangers on 13 January in a 4–2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

On 26th July 2019, Buchnevich and the Rangers agreed on a two-year extension contract. On 17 April 2021, he scored his first NHL career hat trick during a 6–3 win over the New Jersey Devils.
