Khabib Nurmagomedov still Eying on Mega-bout against Georges St-Pierre MMA

Khabib Nurmagomedov's next opponent is definitely Tony Ferguson if nothing goes wrong. The two lightweights are expected to fight for the lightweight title in the first quarter of 2020.

However, the Eagle is still looking for the mega-bout against the former UFC middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre and wants "Rush" soon after he passes through El Cucuy.

“Our opponent is definitely Tony Ferguson. There’s no other name that deserves it. We wanted the GSP fight, but GSP didn’t get along with the UFC.”

The lightweight champion said during an interview.

"For this reason, our only and most valuable option is Ferguson. However, it is still wrong to say 100% it will be this fight without signing the papers. If the UFC and GSP can negotiate, we want to meet GSP after the Ferguson fight.”

The UFC president Dana White had previously denied the idea of setting up Khabib-GSP bout but he seems to be quite positive with the bout.

“Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib and obviously if Khabib wins that fight, the GSP fight would be a fun fight to make for sure. I don’t know if you guys have seen pictures of GSP but he’s looking really, really, really fucking skinny right now. I think right now he’s ten pounds lighter than Khabib is. Something like that, somebody told me, so that’s pretty crazy.

White said recently.

Well, the UFC can come into terms with both parties to set up one of the biggest bouts in MMA history but for that Khabib should get into the Octagon with El Cucuy and get past to him. The hype would have no meaning if Khabib loses to Tony.
