As a youth, Olausson played with Tranas AIF prior to joining to continue his junior development with HV71. In his third season in the J20 Nationell, he started the 2020 21 campaign where he collected 14 goals and 27 points in 16 games before being promoted to the senior team.
In his professional debut with HV71 in the SHL, he recorded 3 goals and 4 points in 16 regular-season games. He concluded the season on loan in the HockeyAllsvensken with second tire club, Sodertalje SK contributing with 6 points in 11 outings.
