Omar Marmoush, born Omar Khaled Mohamed Abd Elsala Marmoush, was born on February 7th, 1999 in Cairo, Egypt. He is both Egyptian and Canadian, adding to his mixed background. Right from a young age, he showed an interest in football and joined his career with the sport, which has gone well both domestically and on the international scene.
Marmoush started his football career with Wadi Degla SC, joining their youth ranks. He started his professional career in the Egyptian Premier League on 8th July 2016.
During his time with Wadi Degla, he played a total of 16 games and scored two goals, which won him the attention of scouts in Europe.
He soon proved to be a bright spark in the books of Wadi Degla SC. His stints in the Egyptian Premier League subsequently opened a way to Europe.

He transferred to VfL Wolfsburg in 2017 and for the first time, played in the reserve team. On May 26, 2020, he made his first appearance in the League match against Bayer Leverkusen. In addition, he developed his skills over several seasons and turned out to be among the leading players of the team. In July 2022, he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga and scored six goals in all competitions this season.
Marmoush also had loan periods at FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart to gain more experience. At St. Pauli in the 2021 season, he was able to contribute seven goals in 21 appearances, proving that he is up for any high-pressure challenge.
His loan spell at VfB Stuttgart proved fruitful, too, as he scored a last-minute equalizer on his debut for the club.
In January 2023, Omar Marmoush signed for Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer. Immediately upon his signing, he scored in his maiden match during the DFB-Pokal and netted his first Bundesliga goal shortly thereafter.
Those performances have been of essence to Frankfurt, and he still is the mainstay of their attack.
Off the field, Marmoush has spoken of ambitions to play in big leagues such as the English Premier League. On the commercial side, he has also been engaging his fanbase with a host of sponsorship deals with some well-recognized brands like Vodafone and Nike, adding to his profile as a football emerging star.
Marmoush, before making his senior debut on October 8, 2021, represented Egypt at various youth levels and scored the only goal in that important win over Libya. He has furthered his international experience by playing in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations when Egypt reached the final, where they lost to Senegal.
Also, he played a key role in Egypt's qualification to various upcoming tournaments, like the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
