Mitchel Bakker is a Dutch professional footballer who is currently signed to the Bayer Leverkusen of the Bundesliga as a left-back. At the international level, he has represented Netherland U15, U16, U17, U18, U19, and U21 national teams.

Career

An academic product of Ajax, Bakker made his debut for Ajax in a 7–0 KNVB Cup win against Te Werve on 26 September 2018. On 31st October 2018, he played his second and final game for the senior team in a 3–0 cup win against Go Ahead Eagles.

On 7th July 2019, Mitchel joined  Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer agreeing on a four-year contract. On 29th January 2020, he made his debut for the PSG in a 2–0 Coupe de France win against Pau, coming on as a substitute. His first start for the club came on 12 February 2020, in a 6–1 cup win against Dijon.

On 15th February 2020, he made his first Ligue 1 appearance in a 4–4 draw against Amiens. In October 2020, he made his UEFA Champions League debut, coming on as a substitute in a 2–1 loss against Manchester United.

On 12th July 2021, Bakker signed to the  Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year contract with the club for a reported transfer fee of 7 million euros, potentially rising to 10 million with bonuses with a buy-back option for PSG.
