Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team's coach Tom Izzo won't be hired as the Orlando Magic's head coach vacancy, Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal confirmed to media.

Tom had never been seriously considered for the position, as the 63 years old Basketball coach didn't have a standing offer from Orlando Magic.

He hadn't even granted to give an interview regarding his move to Magic, according to Brendan F. Quinn of The Athletic.

Earlier Thursday, it was reported that Magic was, sort of, interested to have Tom as their coach. But the initial interest eventually faded away. It was shortly after former Charlotte Hornets head coach Steve Clifford had, as reported, scheduled an interview.

Tom is coming off a 30-5 season at the helm of the Spartans including a Big Ten regular-season title but ended with a devasting second-round loss to Syracuse in the NCAA tournament.

The school was in the spotlight after report of the Larry Nassar's sexual assault scandal and an ESPN "Outside the Lines" investigation.

Over his 23 seasons career as the basketball coach in East Lansing, Tom owns a 574-225 career record, that includes seven trips to the Final Four and a national title in the 1999-2000 season.
