Michail Antonio was born on 28th of March 1990, in Wandsworth, England. His birth sign is Aries. Regarding his nationality, Antonio is English and he belongs to African ethnicity.

Since his childhood, Antonio was engrossed towards football. At the early age of 12, he started off playing football at Tooting & Mitcham United and remained there for 6 seasons.

At the age of 17, Michail Antonio signed his first ever professional contract with Tooting & Mitcham United. For the club, he made his debut against Hendon in an away match in a 1-1 draw.

On 28th October 2008, Antonio moved to Championship club Reading, signing a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee. But he didn’t make an appearance for the club, rather was loaned to his previous club Tooting & Mitcham United on a month-long loan spell on 9th January 2009.

He was subsequently loaned out again but this time to Cheltenham Town on a month’s loan. On 21st February 2009, he made his football league debut against Leeds United in a 2-0 victory.

On 5th October 2009, Antonio signed to Southampton for a one-month loan spell. 4 days later he made his first appearance for the club against Southend United in a 3-1 away victory. His first goal came on 6th November in the FA Cup win over Bristol Rovers. Following his excellent performance, his loan was extended until the end of the seasons. For the club, he scored 3 goals and made overall 28 appearances for the club.

Once more on 15th August 2011, Antonio was loaned to Colchester United on a 1-month deal. The next day, he made his team debut against Charlton Athletic in a 2-0 home defeat. On 20th August, he scored the first goal for the club against Huddersfield Town. Before he moved to another club, he played total 15 games and scored 4 goals for the club.

Sheffield Wednesday

On 26th February 2012, he made Owls debut against Sheffield United in a 1-0 win. Throughout his loan spell, he played 14 games for the club and scored 5 goals. Furthermore, he signed on a permanent basis for Owls on 6th August 2012.

Nottingham Forest

On 6th August 2014, Antonio joined Nottingham Forest, signing a three-year contract for a fee of £1.5 million. In his first 5 leagues, he made 3 goals and 3 assists, which led to him being named as a candidate for the Championship’s Player of the Month award for August. On 4th May 2015, he was named Forest’s Player of the Season.  

West Ham United

For the club, he made his debut against Manchester City in a 2-1 win on 19th September. For West Ham, he scored the first goal on 28th December 2015. So far, he has played 62 games and scored 18 goals. He is a good friend of his former teammate Dimitri Payet.

International Career

In March 2016, Antonio was offered by Jamaica international football team but he declined that offer and stated that he hearty wishes to represent England internationally.

On 28th August 2016, Antonio received very first call along with Chris Smalling and Wayne Rooney from England manager Sam Allardyce for the first team for the 2018 World Cup qualification match against Slovakia where he was an unused substitute.
