Martin Campana is an Uruguayan professional football player who currently plays as a goalkeeper for an Argentine top division club Independiente. He started his youth career playing for his hometown club, Deportivo Maldonado and played for several other clubs including Atenas, Cerro Largo etc.

Early Life

Martin Campana was born on May 29, 1989, in Maldonado, Uruguay and his real name is Martín Nicolas Campana Delgado. He started playing football right from his early age and was a fan of Diego Maradona. He holds an Uruguayan nationality.

Club Career

Campana started his footballing career in 2006 joining the youth academy of Deportivo Maldonado. He made his professional club debut in 2008 joining the Uruguayan top division club Cerro Largo. He was in the club for 4 years where he appeared in 69 games and was eventually the 2nd choice keeper for the team. 

He was further sent on loan to Racing Club de Montevideo in 2010 but due to some issues, he was instead sent on a loan to Defensor Sporting the same year. He played 67 games for the club and further left for an Argentine club Independiente in 2015 and still plays for the club wearing the jersey number 25.

International Career

Martin Campana has experienced playing with his national side in both junior and senior levels. He made his professional junior level debut representing Uruguay under-20 team at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt. He made his senior team appearance at the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London, Great Britain. He has won over 5 caps for his national side.
