2010-11 Syrian Cup-winning footballer Mahmoud Al-Mawas currently plays for the Umm Salal in "Qatar Stars League" as well as for the Syria national team as an attacking midfielder or winger.

Early Life

Mahmoud Al-Mawas was born on 1st of January 1993, in Hama, Syria. Talking about his nationality, he is a Syrian, and he belongs to the Arab ethnicity. Al-Mawas birth sign is Capricorn.

Early Career

Al-Mawas began his football career with Ommal Hama in 1997. After nine years, he switched to Al-Karamah. He then played for Al-Ain on loan for 2008-09 seasons.

Club Career


In 2010, Mahamoud Al-Mawas was promoted to the senior team of the Al-Karamah. However, he didn’t make an appearance for the club so, in 2013, he was loaned to Al-Riffa. For the club, he appeared in 10 leagues and scored five goals.


After a short spell with Al-Riffa, Al-Mawas signed to Al-Arabi FC. He played 62 leagues and scored 17 goals for the club.

Al Faisaly and Al-Riffa (Loan)

In 2015, he was loaned to Al Faisaly and then to Al-Riffa for 2015-16.


After a short spell with a Bahraini football club, Al-Muharraq he joined Umm Salal.

International Career

Mahmoud Al-Mawas was a part of Syria U-16, U-17, U-20, and U-23 respectively. Being on the team of U-23 Syrian national team, he played at “2012 Summer Olympics qualification."

Since 2012, Al-Mawas is in the Syria national team. Till the date, he won 47 caps and scored eight goals for the national team of Syria.
