Later in 2017, after the expiration of his contract with Geona, Niang joined Watford and played 16 games netting 2 goals. Again in 2017, he made his debut with Cardiff City and appeared in 26 games in total scoring four vital goals.
As the player, has dual nationality; ie Senegal and French, he appeared in 2009–2010 France U16 club as a national trooper for France and scored 3 goals appearing in six U16 matches.
Later in 2010–2011, he again appeared in Franch U17 team in eight of its games. Later he reappeared in Franch U21 team in three of its matches scoring a single goal.
Niang made his debut with Senegal against Cape Verde On 7 October 2017, in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match winning the match with a 2–0 lead. In May 2018 he was named in Senegal's 23 man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
