Blessed with the tremendous all around ability, Luke Zeller is a former professional basketball player. As a power forward and center, he played for the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns.

Zeller was also picked by the Austin Toros whom he helped to win the 2012 D-League championship.

Early Life

Zeller was born on April 7, 1987, in Ames Iowa. He is of American nationality and belongs to white ethnicity.

Zeller was born to Steve and Lorri Zeller. He is the elder brother of NBA player Tyler and his younger brother Cody Zeller plays basketball for Charlotte Hornets.

High School & College Career

Zeller went to Washington High School in Washington, Indiana where he played basketball for all four years under Coach Dave Omer. Due to his remarkable performance, he became the only player who selected all-conference four times. Moreover, he also bagged McDonald’s All-American and Indiana Mr. Basketball in his senior years.

Upon high school graduation, Zeller attended Notre Dame in 2005-06, where he played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s men basketball team.

Professional Career

Zeller was undrafted in the 2009 NBA draft and he joined the Chicago Bulls for the 2009 NBA Summer League, where he averaged 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in four games.

On July 31, 2009, Zeller agreed on a one-year contract with the Shiga Lakestars of the Japanese bj-league. In 50 games with Shiga, he averaged 8.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He then moved to Naglis-Adakris of the Lithuanian Basketball League on a one-year deal on September 22, 2010. However, the club released him on 24 October after appearing in six games.

On November 1, 2011, the Austin Toros picked him. Later on December 9, he signed to San Antonio Spurs. However, later the team waived him and he returned to Toros and played for the 2011-12 season.

On Sep 28, 2012, Zeller signed two-year minimum salary contract with Phoenix Suns. On Nov 4, he made his NBA debut against the Orlando Magic. On Feb 21, 2013, he was waived from the team.

He returned to the Austin on December 27, 2013, and played rest of the season with them.
