During the 2008 season, Ki scored a winning goal against Suwon Samsung Bluewings in the 92nd minute. However, Ki transferred to Celtic FC during the 2009 season and played until 2011 season.
Later, Ki signed a three-year contract with Swansea City for around £6 million. But just after a season, Ki transferred to Sunderland on a season-long loan on 31st August 2013.
