The young basketball player was a four-year varsity basketball player who helped her team win three state titles and was named to numerous all-star teams and honor teams, including the Washington Post's All-Met First Team and the Frederick News-Post's Player of the Year.

College Success

Kendall Bresee spent her first two years of college at the University of Maryland, but in 2019 she made the move to Mount St. Mary's. Averaging 11.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in her rookie season at the Mount, she made a significant contribution right away. With her help, her team made it all the way to the NEC championship game.

In her second season, she improved her stats to 13.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. She became the ninth player in Mount St. Mary’s history to be named NEC Player of the Year and also received the NEC Defensive Player of the Year award. She led her team to its first NEC title since 1995 and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

In her graduate season, she continued to dominate the conference, averaging 14.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. She was named to the All-NEC First Team for the second time and became the 29th person in school history to score 1,000 points in her career. She also recorded four double-doubles and had a season-high 27 points against Maryland Eastern Shore.

Kendall Bresee is a women’s basketball player who was born on August 5, 1998. She is the daughter of Richard and Meghan Bresee, who are both former athletes. Her father played football at James Madison University in Virginia, while her mother was an All-American basketball player at Frederick Community College in Maryland. They met and married in 1995, after a brief romance in the mid-90s.

Kendall has three siblings: Bryan BreseeBailey Bresee, and Ella Bresee. Bryan is a defensive end for Clemson University, who is considered one of the best prospects in the country. Bailey is a sister who also plays football. Ella was a younger sister who died due to cancer. 

Kendall Bresee Honored Her Sister Ella’s Memory

Kendall Bresee’s sister, Ella Bresee, died of brain cancer on September 15, 2022. She was 15 years old and had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in 2021.

The athlete's sister underwent surgery and radiation at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, but the tumor had spread to the back of her brain. She was a basketball player for her middle school team and hoped to follow in Kendall’s footsteps.

Bresee dedicated her 2020-21 season to Ella and wore a headband with her name on it during games. She also visited Ella in Memphis during breaks and kept in touch with her through FaceTime. Bresee’s teammates and coaches at Mount St. Mary’s University wore “Ella Strong” T-shirts to honor her during a game against Furman on September 10, 2022.
