The Vegas police stated that they re-opened the criminal investigation on Monday, October 1, 2018. Back in 2009, the former Real Madrid's striker was seen cozy with Kathryn Mayorga at a Sin City nightclub, the Sun Online reports.
Later, Kathryn was attacked by the Portuguese footballer in the penthouse suite of the Palms Casino Resort in 2009 as per the lawsuit, though, Ronaldo, 33 has denied the issue branding them as 'Fake News.'
As per Der Spiegel, shortly after the incident, 34-year-old Ms. Mayorga filed a report with Las Vegas police. But in 2010, she was made an off-court settlement with Ronaldo for agreeing never to go public with the allegations and was paid $375,000 (£288,000), the report says.

Over the years, Kathryn Mayorga remained silent but her emotional health was affected by the post-traumatic stress.
In April 2017, after a sports website leaked copies of documents and communications of the rape issue, mediation to Der Spiegel; Kathryn took legal counsel in fear that she may be linked to the article and in violation of the settlement: one of the lawyers, Larissa Drohobyczer told CNN.
Motivated by the #MeToo movement, Kathryn came out publically and moved forward to the lawsuit in 2018. But Ronaldo's lawyer called the reporting "blatantly illegal."
The investigation quest has not reached the final decisions yet.
