Jokhow "JT" Thor is an American basketball player who finished his collegiate career playing for the Auburn Tigers of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). He has declared for the 2021 NBA Draft.
Omaha, Nebraska native, JT Thor was born on 26th August 2001, under the star sign Virgo. His parents are South Sudanese who moved to Anchorage, Alaska at his five. Further, his elder brother, Jal Rial played college basketball for Phoenix and Howard College. Further, he has four brothers and three sisters.
Most recently, JT Thor was playing for the Auburn Tigers of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The college basketball player does not have a salary for playing the college team. Thor enrolled at West Anchorage High School in Anchorage, Alaska where he started playing basketball as a seventh-grader. When he turned 14, he relocated to West Virginia, where his brother lived, to join Huntington Prep School. After two years, he transferred to Norcross High School in Norcross, Georgia. During his senior season, he averaged 14.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, receiving all-state honors.
A consensus four-star recruit, Thor committed to play college basketball for Auburn, over Oklahoma State. On 13th February 2021, he recorded a season-high 24 points and nine rebounds, shooting 5-of-6 from three-point range, in an 82–80 loss to Kentucky. He concluded the freshman season averaging 9.4 points, five rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game.
On 23rd March 2021, he announced the 2021 NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility.
