Jon Kempin

Jon Kempin is an American professional footballer who plays for Columbus Crew SC in Major League Soccer as a goalkeeper. Previously, he has played for the LA Galaxy, Orland City, Oklahoma City Energy, San Antonio Scorpions, Swope Park Rangers, and Sporting Kansas City.

 

Also, the goalkeeper has represented his national side in United States U18, U20, and U23 national team.

A native of Leawood, Kansas, United States, Jon Kempin was born on 8^th April 1993, to Vance Kempin and Julie Kempin. As per nationality, Kempin is an American and is of white ethnicity.

At the age of 15, Kempin joined the U.S. Soccer Development Academy side the Sporting Kansas City Academy.

For high school, he enrolled at Blue Valley North High School and upon graduation, he joined Southern New Hampshire University.

Sporting Kansas City

At the age of 17, Jon Kempin penned his first professional contract, making him Sporting Kansas City's first homegrown player, on 31^st August 2010. Furthermore, he made his debut 29^th May 2012, in a 3-2 victory over Orlando City in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

For 2013 season, he was loaned out to Orlando City. Similarly, he joined OKC Energy FC for the 2014 season to play under former teammate Jimmy Nielsen. In August 2014, Kempin earned the Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game Most Valuable Player award.

Moreover, his MLS debut came on August 10, 2014, against Vancouver as a halftime substitute and impressed with a late penalty save. Later six days, he made his first MLS regular season start against Toronto FC at Sporting Park.

Similarly, Kempin played 2015 season for San Antonio Scorpions and 2016 season for Swope Park Rangers on loan.
