On 28th October 2017, Jamey Simmons made his professional MMA debut at New League Fights 7 - Hallows Eve where he defeated Kanat Tassybay via unanimous decision. He then won over John Melina at Pure FC 8 - Hull vs. Millsap. On 4th August 2018, he faced his career's first loss against Donny Simpson at XFO 63 - Outdoor War 14 via Submission (Guillotine Choke). 

Rebounding from loss, he made his comeback at Pure FC 13 - Pure Fighting Championships 13 where he defeated Cody Garness. On 18th May 2019, he defeated Terrence Almond at Driller Promotions - No Mercy 10 via Unanimous Decision. On 28th June 2019, he was knockout by Jake Childers at LFA 70 - Ferreira vs. Martin. After that, he has a series of wins over Nick Spina, Morgan Sickinger, and Shawn West. 

On 7th November 2020, Jamey made his UFC debut at UFC on ESPN 17 - Santos vs. Teixeira where he had a loss against Giga Chikadze by TKO (Head Kick and Punches). On 7th August 2021, he is scheduled to face Johnny Munoz Jr. at UFC 265.
