On 15 July 2014, Ennis agreed on multiyear deals with Miami Heat. On October 29, 2014, he made his NBA debut for Heat against the Washington Wizards. He was acquired by Memphis Grizzlies on November 10, 2015 and assigned to Iowa Energy of Grizzlies D-League.
On 2 March 2016, Ennis was released from the team and again picked by the Iowa Energy on 6 March 2016. He signed with the New Orleans Pelicans on April 9 for the rest of the season.
