Gu Chao is a Chinese professional footballer who currently plays for Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Super League and China national team as a goalkeeper. Similarly, he played for clubs like Shanghai East Asia and Hangzhou Greentown.

Early Life

GU Chao was born on August 20, 1989, in Shanghai, China. Chao was born to Chinese parents and grew up along with his siblings. Gu Chao belongs to the Han ethnicity and holds a Chinese nationality.

Club Career

Gu Chao Chao joined the youth team, Genbao Football Academy in 2000. Further, Chao left the club after six years. After then, Chao joined Shanghai SIPG F.C. Following this, Gu Chao became a regular player for the club.

For the club, Gu Chao gave 50 appearances in four years. Then, Gu Chao moved to Chinese football club, Hangzhou Greentown F.C., worth ¥2 million. Later, he played his first match against Dalian Shide on July 6, 2011. He played over 70 games for the club until 2015.

Further, Gu Choa signed a new contract with Jiangsu Suning on December 31, 2015, ¥30 million through which Chao was named as the most expensive goalkeeper in China. After his first match over Henan Jianye, he became the regular goalkeeper for the team.

International Career
