Gerald Harris is an American mixed martial artist as well as a stand-up comedian who currently competes for renowned American MMA promotion, Bellator MMA. Besides fighting for Bellator, he also competes in World Series of Fighting, UFC, Dream, Shark Fights, Tachi Palace Fights and Legacy Fighting Championship.


Harris has also won the FCF Middleweight champion, Athletic Hall of Fame and also won the Knockout of the Year in 2010 by defeating David Branch on July 3, 2010.

Gerald Harris is of American nationality. He was born on 19th November 1979 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the United States of America to Afro African parents. He had a brother, Cory Harris who was killed in car accident in  March 2009.

He did his schooling from East Central High School in Oklahoma and later went to Cleveland State University and began his wrestling in the State University and was also the member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.

Harris initially was not interested in MMA but when his friend persuaded him to try for fun and money.  He started to pursue his career in MMA and trained under trainers such as Jamie Varner, Ryan Bader at the Arizona Combat Sports and made his UFC debut against John Salter in Total Knockout, and won his first ever MMA bout with a with a first round knock out.

Harris later went to compete at the DREAM INC, World Series  Fighting. As of  2018, he is currently competing for Bellator MMA. He recently had a fight against Rafael Lovato Jr. in Bellator 198 as a replacement for injured John Salter on April 28, 2018, and lost the match with a submission in the first round.
