Francisco Silva is a Chilean international player who currently plays as a defensive midfielder for the Mexican side Cruz Azul. 

Silva along with his team mates won the 2016 Copa America Cup defeating Argentina in the final, he guaranteed the win for his national side converting his decisive penalty into Goal. He has an estimated net worth of $1 million. 

Early Life 

Francisco Silva was born as  Francisco Andrés Silva Gajardo on 11 February 1986 in Quillota, Chile. His mother is Maria Gajardo. He holds a Chilean nationality.

Career

Francisco Silva made his professional football debut in 2005 representing Universidad Católica, he joined the Universidad Catolica from 2000 and was later sent on loan to Dep. Ovalle, and appeared twice for the first-team in the following year.

He scored his 1st clubs goal on scored his first goal on 7 November 2009. In the 2010 summer Silva was linked to Lecce, but due to reductions in the non-EU registration quota, the deal wasn't finalized.

Silva was loaned to Spanish side CA Osasuna on On 22 January 2013, He made his debut for the club on 2 February starting as a second-half substitute in a 1–0 home win over Celta de Vigo. On 8 March he netted his first goal for Osasuna.

Silva was loaned to Club Brugge KV, in a season-long deal with a buyout clause on 29 August 2014. On 13 July of the following year, he was transferred to Chiapas.

International career

Silva made his international main squad debut on 22 January 2011, starting in a 1–1 draw against the United States at Home Depot Center.Silva was not initially named in Chile's 2015 Copa America squad but was added to the team due to an injury to Edson Puch. He showed his tremendous skills in 2016 Copa America which lead his team to win the tournament against Argentina in a penalty shootout.
