Euro Cup 2020: Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field against Finland, Match Suspended (Live Updates) Soccer

Denmark Vs Finland match in the Euro Cup 2020 has been suspended after Denmark star Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch just before the halftime whistle during the European Championship match against Finland. 

The 29-year old midfielder suddenly fell to the ground in the 42nd minute of the game. The teammates soon sensed the urgent trouble and called the medics, who rushed to the scene. The doctors who were on the scene gave him cardiopulmonary resuscitation and placed him in the recovery position.

The other member of the Denmark team formed a shield around him while the doctors examined him and performed CPR procedures. They were also seen in tears while the Inter Milan midfielder laid on the ground with a trainer performing chest compressions.

The Group B clash, which was a scoreless draw until the incident happened, was suspended.

Some sources later reported that the Danish midfielder is in a stable condition. UEFA released a statement that read:

“Following the medical emergency for Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET. The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised”.
