Shoot Brazil

On 24th March 2007, Dantas made his professional MMA career debut at Shooto Brazil 2, where he defeated William Porfirio via unanimous decision. His second pro fight came against Fabio Oliveira at Shooto Brazil 3, on 7th July 2007. He won the battle via unanimous decision.

On 15th September 2007, he went on to fight at Casino Fight 4 against Artano Silva Barbosa. He lost the fight via DQ (illegal soccer kicks) in the round one.

Rebounding from the loss, he returned to Shooto Brazil and gave series off a win against Shinichi Kojima, Hudson Rocha, Juan Tessari, and Luis Alberto Nogueira at Shooto: Back To Our Roots 6, Shooto Brazil 5, 7, and nine respectively.

On 19th July 2009, he appeared against Mauricio Antonio Santos Jr., at World Fighting Combat, where he marked his victory via unanimous decision.

Later three month, Dantas faced Masakatsu Ueda at Shooto: Revolutionary Exchanges 1: Undefeated. He lost the fight but this time via unanimous decision. Following the loss, he returned with a bang and won consecutive three matches, against Carlos Robert, Hiromasa Ogikubo, and Samuel de Souza.

Bellator Fighting Championships

In the fall of 2011, Dantas signed for Bellator MMA, making his debut on 24th September at Bellator 51, against Wilson Reis. He took home the belt in his debut match, defeating his opponent via KO in the round two.

He subsequently faced Ed Wets, Alexis Vila, Zach Makovsky, Marcos Galvao, and Anthony Leone at Bellator 55, 59, 65, 89, and 111 respectively, compiling all five of wins.

On 10th October 2014, Dantas was defeated by Joe Warren at Bellator 128, via unanimous decision.

In 2015, he had just one fight, and that was against Mike Richman at Bellator 137, on 15th May. He won the fight via unanimous decision.

Further, he started the following year competing at Bellator 156, where he defeated his opponent Marcos Galvao via unanimous decision, on 17th June.

At Bellator 166, he re-faced Joe Warren, but this time he defeated him via majority decision.

On 14th April 2017, Dantas faced Leandro Higo at Bellator 177 and mark his victory via split decision,

On 6th October 2017, he faced Darrion Caldwell at Bellator 184. He lost the fight via unanimous decision in the 5th round of the bout.
