Davonte Davis is an American college basketball player who is currently representing the Arkansas Razorbacks of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). His current NBA status shows, Davis will be eligible for the 2024 NBA Draft.
Jacksonville, Arkansas native, Davonte Davis was born on 24th September 2001, under the star sign. He is the son of Terrie Davis and Grandson of Yvette Davis. The twenty-year-old holds an American nationality and is of an Afro-American ethnic background. He stands 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m) tall and weighs 180 lb (82 kg).
Davonte Davis enrolled at Jacksonville Lighthouse School where he played basketball for the school team. During his freshman year, he averaged 16 points and seven rebounds per game. Also, he led the team to a regional championship and the Class 2A state semifinal.
The following season, he averaged 18.4 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and two steals per game.
After that season, Davis was transferred to Jacksonville High School. As a junior, he averaged 18.5 points, six assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game.
During senior season, Davis averaged 21 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals per game as well as leading the team to the Class 5A state title game. However, the game was canceled due to COvid-19 Pandemic. He was awarded Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Player of 2020.
Regarded as a four-star prospect, Davis was rated 80th on the ESPN Top 100 and 100th on the 247Sports Composite.
Initially, Davis committed to Oklahoma State for his collegiate basketball career but later switched to Arkansas.
As a freshman at Arkansas, he averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
There is no report on media about Davis' relationship/girlfriend. Also, the point guard has not revealed much about his love life to the public.
In an interview, Aarkansasrazorbacks, Davis said, "I don’t do much or hang around with a lot of people. " He has a small circle and seems to be the reticent person.
Besides basketball, he enjoys fishing almost every other day in his free time. "I also love to eat so trying new foods was something I’ve done" Davin added.
He plans to major in recreation and sport management.
Davonte Davis is yet to turn professional. Further, college basketball player does not have salary from college, however, they are benefited from scholarships. Coming to 2021, NCAA has introduced the new rule of making money outside college via sponsorships and endorsements.
Not to mention, the ultimate goal is the NBA. Once, Davis is drafted by an NBA franchise after his college, he will make millions of dollars as salary.
The average salary in the NBA league is $7.90 million for the 2020-21 season and media is $3.83 million, rising to $4.02 million in 2022.
