Cobi Jones was born as Cobi N’Gai Jones on June 16, 1970. His place of birth was Detroit, Michigan, United States. He was raised in Southern California. He started playing soccer with AYSO at the age of five in Westlake, Village, California. Upon graduating from Westlake High School, he attended UCLA and become one of its most successful soccer-playing graduates. While attending UCLA, he associated with Lambda Chi Alpha, an international fraternity.
Professional Career
After participating and performing in the 1994 World Cup held in the United States, Cobi Jones assigned by the English team the Coventry City of the Premier League, where he spent one season. Upon playing with Coventry, he went to play with a Brazilian multisport club named CR Vasco da Gama. In 1996, he joined Los Angeles Galaxy and his best season with Galaxy came in 1998, where he had 19 goals and 13 assists. Cobi scored 70 goals in 306 apps while playing with Galaxy.
