On April 2015, he declared for the NBA draft. On June 25, the Brooklyn Nets selected him with the 29th overall pick. On July 1, he agreed on a rookie contract with the Nets. He played his NBA debut, recording 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block in just less than 11 minutes off the bench in the Nets” 105-104 win against the Denver Nuggets.
On February 22, 2017, he was traded to the Washington Wizards alongside Bojan Bogdanovic in exchange for Andrew Nicholson and Marcus Thornton.
