On 7th October 2006, Cooper made his international debut for Panama senior squad against El Salvador. His first goal for his side came on 16th January 2011, in a 2–0 triumph against Nicaragua in a 2011 Copa Centro Americana match played at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City.
In May 2018, his name was included in Panama’s preliminary 35 man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup along with his teammates Alex Rodriguez, Valentin Pimentel, and Luis Tejada.
Currently thirty, Armando Cooper is married to Keyla Cedeno. The lovely couple welcomed their second baby girl, Amaia Lucia Cooper, on 17th April 2017, and their first daughter, Jinielys Arianne Cooper, is now eight years old.
In an interview with MUJER, Keyla spoke much about Cooper. She said that off the court, he is an ordinary person: very humble, simple, and friendly. Also added, as a dad, Cooper is protective, loving and consenting; as a husband, he is attentive and affectionate.
Although the family home is in Panama, Keyla and two daughters move with Cooper to the country where he is playing.
