Antony Silva is a Paraguayan footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Primera División Paraguaya club Cerro Porteno. He made his professional debut in football 2000 and has an estimated net worth of $1 million.
Antony Silva was born on 27 February 1984 in Asuncion, Paraguay. HIs real name is Antony Domingo Silva Cano. Talking about his nationality, he holds the citizenship of both Paraguay and Italy.
Silva began his youth football career in Club Cerro Cora and made his club debut in 2000 representing the same team. He played for two years in the club appearing in 23 games scoring no goal. He later moved to Club Libertad in 2003 and helped the club to win the game against Argentine club River Plate on April 7.
Later Silva joined General Caballero on loan during the 2005 season. Silva's rights were purchased by Italian club Genoa but never officially joined the Italian side. He too couldn't perform there being a reserved goal keeper.
Silva signed with Club 2 de Mayo and established himself as the teams' main goalkeeper in 2006. After a fantastic season with the club, he was called by Harry Redknapp for a trial at Portsmouth. Silva could not agree to terms and decided to sign for Club Tacuary of Paraguay. After an impressive season with Club Tacuary in which he played the Copa Libertadores, Silva left Paraguay and was signed by Argentine side Talleres de Córdoba.
Silva only played 7 games for Talleres in 2008, and in 2009 moved to Brazil to play for Marília Atlético Clube. Lastly, he signed with Cerro Porteno as a reinforcement for the 2016 Copa Libertadores and is still playing for the club as a 1st choice keeper.
Silva has represented Paraguay at several youth levels. Silva played for Paraguay in the Under-17 World Cup 2002 and played in the Under-20 World Cup helping his nation reach the knock out stages in 2003. He was part of the squad that played in the 2015 Copa América, where he played 2 matches.
