Anthony Akumu popular by his nickname Teddy Akumu is a Kenyan professional football player who currently plays as a midfielder for a Zambian professional football club, "ZESCO United F.C."


Likewise, he played for clubs, Gor Mahia and Al Khartoum. Similarly, Akumu made his international debut in 2011 with the Kenyan international football team.

Early Life

Anthony Akumu was born as Anthony Akumu Agai on October 20, 1992, in Rachuonyo, Kenya. Anthony is also well-known as Teddy Akumu. He was born in a middle-class family, and he spent a long time of his life in Kenya with his family. Anthony Akumu belongs to the black ethnicity and holds a Kenyan nationality.

Club Career

Firstly, Anthony Akumu played for “Gor Mahia F.C” for four years. Akumu has won the Kenyan Premier League, Kenya Challenge Cup, Kenya Super Cup and KPL Top 8 Cup with his team. Akumu left the club in 2014.

Leaving the Gor Mahia, Anthony Akumu went to Al Khartoum SC, a football club based in Khartoum, Sudan in 2014. He stayed with the team for a year and left the club in 2015.

After then, Akumu signed a two-year contract with a professional football club, ZESCO United F.C. as a midfielder in 2016 and since then, he is with the team. After he joined the club, reached the semi-finals of CAF Championship League in 2016.

International Career

In 2011, Anthony Akumu entered into the Kenyan national football team. To this date, Akumu gave 31 appearances in the national football team. He also played in the qualifier of the world cup.
