Allan Wanga was born as Allan Wetende Wanga on 26 November 1985, in Kisumu, Kenya. He was born to Frank M. Watende and Noel Ayeta and has two siblings; a brother named Richard Malaki and a sister named Nancy Kuboko. His father is a soccer coach from Western Kenya and mother a Pastor. Allan Wanga began his professional footballing career in 2005, joining the Kisumu-based Lolwe FC. He appeared in 12 games and scored 8 goals in his 3 months career with the club. His one-year stay at Azam was restricted to 11 appearances due to personal issues; he played 19 games for the club and scored 12 goals. He further moved back to his previous club Tusker FC in June 2016 and made his professional second stint debut for the club on 17 July 2016. He has so far started in 15 matches and scored 11 goals.
Allan Wanga made his professional international debut representing his national side Kenya on 27 May 2007, in a friendly match against Nigeria. He scored his professional debut international goal for Kenya on 8 December 2007 against Tanzania in a 2–1 loss at the 2007 CECAFA Cup. He has won over 44 caps for his national team scoring 22 goals.
