Alberto Junior Rodriguez Valdelomar simply known as Alberto Junior Rodriguez is a professional football player who primarily plays as a  central defender for Peru National Team and the Peruvian professional football club, Atletico Junior.

Apart from several Peruvian football clubs, he also has played for Portuguese Primeira Liga clubs like Rio Ave FC, Sporting CP, and SC Braga and made his full senior international debut for Peru in 2003. After playing for the junior team of Sporting Cristal, he joined the main team in 2002 to start his senior professional playing career He made over 150 appearances and scored 10 goals for Sporting Cristal as the team went on to win Peruvian Primera Division league in 2002, 2004 and 2005.

Rodriguez then signed a three and half year contract with Portuguese football club, SC Braga and debuted against UD Leiria on 18 February 2007.

He was the part of the Braga team that won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2008.

The Peruvian defender then signed a four-year contract with Sporting CP on 27 May 2011 and played only a handful of matches before leaving the club in 2012.

He signed a one year contract with fellow Portuguese side, Rio Ave FC in the summer of 2012. After playing 32 matches and scoring 3 goals for the club, he left Portugal and returned back to Peru. He joined his former club, Sporting Cristal in 2015 and was transferred by the club to FBC Melgar in 2016.

After playing a season in 2016, he signed with the renowned football club, Club Universitario de Deportes for 2016/17 season.

The Peruvian defender is currently playing for Atletico Junior with whom he signed in 2018
